Cleaning the Studio

I normally keep my studio tidy and organized.  But, I rarely go after all of the dust and sticky residue from starch and basting spray.  Well, I finally took the time to do the deep cleaning.

The first thing that I did was to remove all of the threads off the design wall and toss out the bent pins.  It took 6 swipes with the lint roller to get the thread off!  Then, I removed all of the pins, restretched the fleece, and pinned it back in place.  I hadn't done this completely since we moved in 13 years ago.

Then I dusted the window blinds and all of the other surfaces (including the legs of my chairs) and wiped down the baseboards.  There was so much dust!

I vacuumed the floor and got down on my hands and knees to scrub off the sticky stuff.

The final step was to steam mop the floor.  And yes, the floor was filthy.  Tons of dusty dirt, starch and basting spray.

I didn't go after the things on the shelf or in bins; there isn't much there to sort out.

Big exhale!  It is so nice now.

Clark County Quilters Show - Quiltfest Northwest

I volunteered for a few different positions at the Quiltfest Northwest this year.  I helped with intake of the quilts, hanging of the quilts, set up of the membership table, sitting at the membership table all three days, and take-down.  It was fun and exhausting.  I do really like being involved with the activities of the quilt guild and this is one of those times where all hands on deck are needed.  Here are some pictures:
